When entering the copper recycling industry, one of the first decisions buyers face is choosing between a wire stripping machine and a copper granulator system. While both are used to recover copper, their pricing structures and application scenarios are fundamentally different.

Wire stripping machines are the most affordable option, typically used for processing thick cables with easily removable insulation. Their prices are relatively low, making them suitable for small workshops or manual operations. However, their efficiency is limited when dealing with mixed or thin wires.

Copper granulator machines, on the other hand, represent a more advanced solution. These systems integrate shredding, crushing, and air separation processes to handle a wide range of cable types. While the initial investment is significantly higher, granulators offer much greater flexibility and automation, making them ideal for medium to large-scale operations.

From a pricing perspective, the difference reflects not just machine size, but technological capability. Granulator systems include multiple components such as conveyors, separators, and dust collection units, all of which contribute to higher cost but also improved performance.

Another key distinction is output quality. Granulators can achieve near-complete separation of copper and plastic, allowing both materials to be sold at a higher value. This dual-output advantage often offsets the higher purchase cost over time.

In 2026, the choice between these machines should be based on material type and business scale. For operations focused on high-volume, mixed cables, investing in a granulator system is usually the more profitable option.
